No boating experience is required. Before departure, we provide a thorough orientation to ensure you are comfortable operating the houseboat and familiar with safety guidelines. 

Are houseboats difficult to operate?

We provide comprehensive boat operation instructions and address any queries before you set off. You’ll receive practical driving guidance to ensure you feel confident and at ease during your holiday.

Do I need a specific license to drive a houseboat?

No, you only need a valid full car license.

How do I make a reservation?

You can easily make a reservation on our website by selecting your preferred houseboat, desired dates, and completing the reservation process.

How can I contact you during our trip?

You can reach us 24/7 through mobile phone or the two-way radio onboard the houseboat.

What should I bring for the trip?

Pack your own food, drinks, and personal toiletries. Consider bringing binoculars, hats, sunscreen, camera, fishing gear, and some favorite DVDs or CDs. Soft bags are recommended over suitcases for better storage. Don’t forget mosquito repellent.

What about parking for my vehicle during the houseboat holiday?

Car parking is available at the marina, including space for trailers and boat trailers.

Can I fish from the houseboat?

Absolutely! The River Murray offers excellent fishing opportunities. You can fish off the back deck for Murray Cod, European Carp, Redfin, and Callop. No fishing license is required in South Australia.

Where can we purchase additional supplies on the river?

There are stores in small towns along the way.

What are the onboard facilities?

The houseboat comes with towels, linen, washing powder, dishwashing tablets, kitchen utensils, and outdoor furniture. It has a full kitchen with cutlery and crockery, as well as a 4-burner BBQ on the foredeck.

Is there a microwave onboard?

Yes, a microwave is available.

How is the mobile phone and TV reception on the river?

Reception is limited and varies. Please check with your service provider.

Can I charge my mobile phone onboard?

Yes, we have a 240-volt system, so bring your household adaptor.

What fish can be found in the river?

The river is abundant with Murray Cod, Callop, Redfin, Catfish, Carp, and yabbies. Check the fishing guide onboard.

What is the recommended cruising speed for the boat?

The best speed is about 7.5 km/hr or approximately 2,000 revs.

How large are the ice boxes onboard?

There are two 80-liter eskies for ice and drinks or frozen food.

Can I bring my speedboat and tie it to the houseboat?

Yes, you can bring your speedboat and use the ski hitch on the side.

Can I buy ice from the Marina?

Yes, we can provide ice upon prior request.
